Puchong grew very quickly from a small town into one of the biggest residential areas in the Klang Valley. A lot of it was built on former estate land and ex-mining ground, and that history matters for termites: the colonies were in the soil first.
If you have found termites, WhatsApp us a photo and your taman. We'll arrange a free inspection in Puchong and give you a quotation after seeing the problem.
Termites in Puchong terraces, link houses and condos
Most homes we inspect in Puchong are double-storey terraces and link houses built over the last few decades, plus a growing number of condominiums. The termite jobs we see most often are white ants in kitchen cabinets and wardrobes, termites in wooden staircases and laminated or timber flooring, and mud tubes coming up through cracks at the base of ground-floor walls.
Renovations are a common trigger. Rear kitchen extensions and car porch conversions are very common in Puchong terraces, and the joint between the original slab and the new one is a classic termite entry point. If you are renovating, ask about anti-termite treatment before the new floor goes down.
Condos in areas like Bandar Puteri and IOI Resort City can get termites through planter boxes, service shafts and wall cavities. We inspect high-rise units as well as landed homes.
Termite damage inside a cabinet
Signs of termites in Puchong homes
Termites work out of sight, so most homeowners only notice them once there is damage. These are the signs our technicians look for first during an inspection.
1
Mud tubes on walls
Pencil-width tunnels of soil on walls, floors, pillars or foundations. Termites build them to stay moist while they travel between the soil and your house.
2
Tunnels under tiles and timber
Lift a loose floor tile or move timber that touches the ground and you may find soil trails or galleries underneath. Subterranean termites live and travel underground.
3
Holes in garden trees
Termites hollow out tree trunks, stumps and roots. Small holes or soil-filled cracks in a trunk usually mean a colony is close to the house.
4
Soil packed into cracks
Soil pressed into cracks, joints or gaps around door and window frames. Termites seal openings this way to keep out light and dry air.
5
Hollow-sounding wood
Tap door frames, skirting boards and cabinets. Wood that sounds papery or gives under a screwdriver is often eaten from the inside. You may also hear faint clicking in walls.
6
Frass (termite droppings)
Tiny pellets that look like sawdust or coffee grounds, often under furniture or door frames. This points to drywood termites inside the timber.
7
Discarded wings
Small wings of equal size near windows, lights or door sills. Flying termites (alates, or kelkatu) shed them after swarming, usually at dusk after rain.
Spraying kills the termites you can see. Sentricon® goes after the whole colony, including the queen, so the problem doesn't come back from the same nest.
1
Free inspection
We find where termites are active, how they are getting in and what has been damaged, then give you a quotation. No obligation.
2
Bait stations go in
Sentricon® stations are placed in the soil around the building, plus above-ground stations on active spots indoors where needed. There is no flooding of the soil with liquid termiticide.
3
Termites carry the bait home
Worker termites feed on the bait and share it through the colony. The active ingredient stops termites from moulting, so the colony gradually dies off, queen included.
4
Monitor and protect
We check the stations, top up bait as needed and confirm when activity stops. The stations stay in place to catch any new colony that comes looking for food.
Usually because only the termites in the house were sprayed while the colony in the ground survived. Treating the colony is what stops them returning.
Many Puchong homeowners tell us they sprayed termites themselves, or had a quick chemical treatment, and the white ants came back months later through another gap. That happens because a subterranean colony can live metres away, under the garden, the back lane or a neighbour's house, and keeps sending workers in.
The termite baiting system works differently: termites take the bait back to the colony and share it, and the colony gradually dies off. In rows of terraces, we also look at where termites are coming from next door.
If you are buying a sub-sale terrace in Puchong, a termite inspection before you renovate is worth the time. Hidden damage in cabinets or flooring is far easier to deal with before new fittings go in.

Pest control in Puchong: FAQ
Do you cover Bandar Puteri, Taman Kinrara and IOI Resort City?
Yes. We cover all of Puchong, including Bandar Puteri, Taman Kinrara, Bandar Kinrara, IOI Resort City, Puchong Jaya, Puchong Perdana and Taman Puchong Prima.
How fast can you come to Puchong?
WhatsApp or call and we'll arrange the earliest inspection slot we can. Call or WhatsApp anytime, we'll respond as soon as possible.
Is the termite inspection in Puchong free?
Yes. The inspection and quotation are free, with no obligation.
I sprayed the termites but they came back. Why?
Spraying kills the termites you can see, but the colony underground survives and keeps sending workers. Termite baiting eliminates the colony itself.
Should I treat termites before renovating my Puchong house?
Yes, if possible. Inspect and treat before new cabinets, flooring or an extension go in, and ask for soil treatment under any new slab. It is much harder to reach termites once the renovation is finished.
