Anti-termite treatment in construction: the stages
Timing matters: the soil treatment has to be done at the right point in the build, before the concrete goes down. Bring us in early and we'll fit around your contractor's schedule.

Site visit and quotation
We look at the plans or the site, agree the treatment area with you or your contractor and give a quotation.

Soil treatment before the slab
Once the ground is levelled and compacted, and before the vapour barrier and concrete, the soil is treated to create a protective zone.

Wall lines and service entries
Areas where termites commonly enter, such as along walls, around pipes and at expansion joints, get particular attention.

Long-term protection
After handover, Sentricon® bait stations around the building can intercept termites that try to get in later.

Do new houses need anti-termite treatment?
In most of the Klang Valley, yes. Subterranean termites are common in the soil, and once a slab is cast you can no longer treat underneath it properly. Treating at construction stage is far cheaper and simpler than dealing with an infestation later.
Many new houses in Malaysia are built on land that was previously plantation, scrub or forest, where termite colonies are already established. Building disturbs those colonies, and a new house full of fresh timber and fit-out becomes their next food source.

Anti-termite treatment for renovations and extensions
Any new floor area, extension or major renovation should have the soil treated before the new slab or floor goes down, and the joint between old and new structure needs attention because termites often get in there.
Typical jobs include kitchen extensions at the back of terrace houses, car porch conversions, new rooms on the ground floor and shoplot refurbishments. If you are already renovating, it is also a good time to book a free termite inspection of the existing structure.
Soil treatment or termite baiting after construction?
Both have a place. Soil treatment is done once, during construction. After the building is finished, a termite baiting system gives ongoing protection and deals with any termites that find a way through.
